Second International Workshop on Machine Learning for Cybersecurity (MLCS 2020)

Second International Workshop on Machine Learning for Cybersecurity (MLCS 2020) co-located with ECMLPKDD 2020 (http://mlcs.lasige.di.fc.ul.pt/) will be held in Ghent, Belgium, from September 14th to September 18th, 2020. Donato Malerba and Annalisa Appice are in the Organizing Committee of this event.

The last decade has been a critical one regarding cybersecurity, with studies estimating the cost of cybercrime to be up to 0.8 percent of the global GDP. The capability to detect, analyze, and defend against threats in (near) real-time conditions is not possible without employing machine learning techniques and big data infrastructure. This gives rise to cyberthreat intelligence and analytic solutions, such as (informed) machine learning on big data and open-source intelligence, to perceive, reason, learn, and act against cyber adversary techniques and actions. Moreover, organisations’ security analysts have to manage and protect systems and deal with the privacy and security of all personal and institutional data under their control. The aim of this workshop is to provide researchers with a forum to exchange and discuss scientific contributions, open challenges and recent achievements in machine learning and their role in the development of secure systems.

First International Workshop On Leveraging Machine Learning In Process Mining

First International Workshop On Leveraging Machine Learning In Process Mining (ML4PM) co-located with ICPM 2020 (http://ml4pm2020.di.unimi.it/) will be held in Wurzburg, Germany, on October 5th, 2020.

The interest in Machine Learning applications in Process Mining has seen increasing growth in the last few years along with the relevance of the ICPM conference. Thus, this workshop offers a focused environment to discuss new approaches, applications and their results to a wide audience, composed of researchers and practitioners. ML4PM will be held in Padua, in conjunction with the ICPM conference.

Discovery Science 2020

23rd International Conference on Discovery Science (DS-2020) (http://ds2020.csd.auth.gr/) will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, during 19–21 October 2020.

The international conference on Discovery Science provides an open forum for intensive discussions and exchange of new ideas among researchers working in the area of Discovery Science. The conference focus is on the use of artificial intelligence methods in science. Its scope includes the development and analysis of methods for discovering scientific knowledge, coming from machine learning, data mining, intelligent data analysis, and big data analytics, as well as their application in various domains.
