On January 20th, 2019 has been published an article about contract stability in computer science. Fabiana Lanotte, our past postdoc research associate at KDDE, has been interviewed by Rossella Nocca for “Repubblica degli Stagisti” in this article. Here the link to the full article (in italian):
Short Master RPDP – (Data Protection Officer)
The Short Master RPDP (In Italian: “Responsabili della Protezione dei Dati Personali”) will take place in Bari at University of Bari Aldo Moro from January to March in 2019. The main topic of this short master is DPO (Data Protection Officer) and it is organized by the University of Bari Aldo Moro, “Autorità Garante per la protezione dei dati personali” and “CRUI”. Moreover, this master is promoted by the KDDE group. For more details visit: https://kdde.di.uniba.it/rpdp/
Data Mining Techniques in Sensor Networks
The KDDE group has recently published the book entitled Data Mining Techniques in Sensor Networks, Summarization, Interpolation and Surveillance. The book introduces the trend cluster, a recently defined spatio-temporal pattern, and its use in summarizing, interpolating and identifying anomalies in sensor networks.

ISMIS-DS 2018
The 24th International Symposium on Methodologies for Intelligent Systems (ISMIS 2018) and the 21st International Conference on Discovery Science (DS 2018) will be held in Limassol, Cyprus, during 29–31 October 2018.
The 24th International Symposium on Methodologies for Intelligent Systems (ISMIS 2018) scope is intended to represent a wide range of topics on applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to areas as diverse as decision support, automated deduction, reasoning, knowledge based systems, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, planning, databases, information retrieval, etc. The focus is on research in intelligent systems. The conference addresses issues involving solutions to problems that are complex to be solved through conventional approaches and that require the simulation of intelligent thought processes, heuristics and applications of knowledge. The integration of these multiple approaches in solving complex problems is of particular importance. ISMIS provides a forum and a means for exchanging information for those interested purely in theory, those interested primarily in implementation, and those interested in specific research and industrial applications.
The 21st International Conference on Discovery Science (DS 2018) provides an open forum for intensive discussions and exchange of new ideas among researchers working in the area of Discovery Science. The scope of the conference includes the development and analysis of methods for discovering scientific knowledge, coming from machine learning, data mining, intelligent data analysis, big data analysis as well as their application in various scientific domains.
