Veronica Buttaro is a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science, University of Bari Aldo Moro. She graduated with full marks and honors in Data Science in July 2023, discussing a thesis "Dimensionality reduction based on Supervised Autoencoders for the analysis of data related to the microbiome". Her research activities mainly concern the study of the conditions of applicability of AI models (smart reuse) already trained in other contexts with different input/output spaces for biomedical application. In particular, applications of interest currently include the discovery of new plasma biomarkers and the development of multimodal models for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
